On Saturday, June 3, our brothers Al Carver, OFM Cap., Jonathan Ulrich, OFM Cap., and James Watson, OFM Cap. (left, with the bishop)were ordained to the priesthood by Bishop David Zubic of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, PA. This step in their lives follow their years of formation in our Capuchin Franciscan way of life, and years of study in theology and ministry in Washington, DC. Ms. Jess Wabler, a friend of Br. Al, served as cantor, along with friar Bob Herrick, OFM Cap., who coordinates the music ministry all of our Provincial liturgies.
In the pictures below, Ms. Camille Brown proclaimed the First Reading of the Mass, while former Cap Corps Volunteer and friend, Nellie O'Connor, was lector for the Second Reading. Nellie was part of Cap Corps in 2010-2011, and went on for graduate work after her year of service to serve as a physician.
For those interested in exploring our Capuchin way of life and to live your life among us as a Capuchin brother and, perhaps, as a Capuchin priest, check out the dates for a weekend of discernment. Come and see!
