As Holy Week Delivers Easter,
so Mercy’s Holy Year
delivers the close to lusterless life
to a life enveloped in light.

A Thursday
of transforming Eucharist
convers for most a weekly compliance
in sharing the sacrament of unity,
which invests them all
in the training corps
for leaning to wash
one another’s traveled feet,
and learn each person’s story of joy
in loving Jesus.

The Friday ordeal contemplates that love,
to wonder, such pain
were necessary to demarcate love,
with revelation,
that love out proves all pain,
for the degree of pain contrives no count,
but be sure that love stood by
before the pain took breath,
While darkness took face as a veil,
by a storm of casual import.

A Mercy year dissolves away
all inner pain,
until pain and calluses appear the same,
or scars or tissue ribboned
by vigorous attempts and trying,
the drills a champion turns to prowess,
or disciples accrue as virtue.

On Saturday of Holy Week
the liturgy swings from longing lament
to glorious accumulation
resounding in Alleluia, the Easter song,
the joyful shout
of exultation exploding joyously.
