CFPWKND 1Our Capuchin Formation Program hosted a Capuchin Vocation Awareness Program the weekend of March 23rd. Our brother Moisés Villalata, OFM Cap., pastor of our Sacred Heart Parish in Washington, DC, brought seven young men for the weekend, and Alex Hostoffer, OFM Cap., in formation studies in DC, accompanied  two other men from the area. A ninth fellow, who is serious about joining the program next year, flew in from Minneapolis, MN. Our Provincial Minister (and former Vocation Director) Tom Betz, OFM Cap., just happened to be at Borromeo that weekend for a meeting of the Board of Trustees and spent the night (which gave Br. Tom a chance to be in the group photos below). I divided the photo in two for a better view of the faces . . .

We also got a picture of a celebration for friar Brian Stacy's 33rd birthday on March 17th . . .

. . . which was celebrated with a parade in downtown Cleveland -- actually they were celebrating St. Patrick's day, but the Borromeo students impressed the city with a solid presence at the parade. Br. Mick Joyce, OFM Cap., our Vicar Provincial Minister and on the staff of our Capuchin Formation Program in Wickliffe, OH, wrote: ‘Twas a grand and glorious morn’ as the seminarians from Borromeo and St. Mary Seminaries gathered together to march in Cleveland’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Taking up their position under a sky that was as blue as our Blessed Mother’s mantle, the young men proudly carried their banner from start to finish."
