Discernment Weekend Draws a Crowd

It was another great turnout for an Alverno Discernment Weekend in August.  Our brothers Rafa Anguiano, OFM Cap., and Tom Betz, OFM Cap., were ably assisted by Brs. Alex Hostoffer, OFM Cap., Andrew CorrienteOFM Cap., and Brian WoffordOFM Cap., who arrived in Salisbury, PA, and our Alverno Retreat house outside of town, to lead 16 young men discerning a call to the Religious Life as a Capuchin Friar.

VocationWkend 03       Postulants Michael Herlihey and Nicholas Sun who recently began their own year of formation in Philadelphia's Padre Pio fraternity, were able to give the group a hand as well.

These weekends take place twice a year for those who are seriously considering our Capuchin Franciscan way of life. It can be a difficult decision to risk a weekend with a group of strangers, and there are certainly enough uncertainties in the discernment of a vocation already, but the group on this weekend can testify that it was a risk well worth taking. Being able to pray together, to talk together and to have fun with those who are facing similar challenges and questions is truly a grace.

Have you considered that the Lord Jesus may be calling you as well?

Maybe we can give you a hand - and a listening ear.
