Our brother Manuel Avilés, OFM Cap., ministering in his diaconate year at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Washington, DC, left the comfort-cool of Washington, DC, to travel to the Northwest side of our St. Augustine Province, accompanying three young men for a visit to Borromeo Seminary in Wickliffe, OH, just east of Cleveland.
While photos and a report of the visit are yet to come, the jounrey to Ohio has already been chronicled on Facebook by Br. Manuel. After beginning in Washington as temperatures began to drop, the men stopped in Pittsburgh, PA, for a visit to our Province center and a requisite visit to Mt. Washington, Pittsburgh's pride-on-the-hill.
In the end, they arrived at Borromeo (well into the proverbial 'Snow Belt' of Lake Erie) and finally made a visit to John Carroll Univeristy in Cleveland Heights (even more in the snow belt!) where the men of our Capuchin Formation Program study while living and sharing community and prayer at Borromeo. We look forward to hearing about the whole weekend experience while we let Facebook's shots feed our curiosity . . . .
